Asset management
Deploy a new asset from a template, find tokens issued by your organisation, and operate each one from its own workspace.
Asset management is where a token's record starts and where every later operation on it begins. A task on a specific asset, such as a transfer or a corporate action, is not a page of its own here. It lives inside that asset's workspace instead. The four pages here put a record in front of you; the workspace behind each record is where the work happens.
Pick your entry by what you already have. If the asset does not exist yet, start with Issue new asset. It deploys the asset from a published instrument templateAn Instrument Template lets an issuer configure a new instrument from an approved shape, instead of re-deciding what it records, does, and permits each time.Read the concept, a published configuration for the asset's type, features, and compliance choices. The deployment is permanent, so the wizard's review step is your last chance to stop.
The table below covers the other three.
| You have | Start here | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| An asset already on the platform | All assets | Opens the management workspace for a token issued on the selected network. Change the network in the sidebar to view its tokens. |
| A token deployed outside the platform | External tokens | Adds a record beside your own issuance, tracked on its own page. The platform never touches the external contract, and the token never gains the Manage Asset menu a workspace carries. |
| Totals and trends | Insights | Shows read-only counts, value, and activity for issued assets. |
A record enters by deployment or by registration. The workspace applies to assets issued on the platform's EVM networks; an external token keeps its own page and has no Manage Asset menu.
Two neighbouring sections cover what this one deliberately does not. The reusable shapes an asset is issued from, the instrument templates and the compliance policies they attach, belong to Asset design. Template changes can affect future issuance. Shared compliance components and system upgrades can also affect existing assets; review each change's scope before applying it.
Processes that involve more than one holder, such as a primary offering, order book trading, a settlement between counterparties, or a holder vote, belong to Asset lifecycle instead. The dividing line is reach: this section works on one asset record at a time, and the asset lifecycleAsset Lifecycle is the whole working life of a regulated tokenized instrument, from issuance through servicing to redemption, governed on one platform.Read the concept pages run processes a whole market participates in.
The whole sidebar group is permission-gated. The group shows only for accounts that hold the admin role or the permission to create assets. With neither, Asset management is absent from the sidebar rather than greyed out: a missing group means a missing role, not a missing feature. An admin whose account lacks the asset-creation permission sees every entry disabled, with a notice naming the missing asset manager role.
Between All assets and External tokens, the sidebar also lists your asset classes, each expanding to the instrument templates that currently have live assets, with a count beside each template. Those entries open the inventory pre-filtered to one template; they are a shortcut into the same records, not a different register.
Operations run from the asset's workspace
Open an asset from its row and the Console shows that asset's workspace: its record spread across tabs, and its controls gathered under the "Manage Asset" menu. Which controls appear depends on the features the composable tokenA Composable Token lets an issuer bring a new regulated instrument to market by configuring facts, features, and rules, not new contract code.Read the concept, the modular contract every issued asset is built from, carried at issuance, and on your permissions for that asset, so two assets rarely show the same menu. The six pages below cover those operations.
