Organisation profile

Change the active organisation's name and logo.

Profile holds the active organisation's display name and logo. Both surface wherever the Console shows the organisation, including the sidebar organisation switcher for any account that belongs to more than one organisation. DALP also writes the current name into every invitation email it sends on the organisation's behalf, including to people who have never opened the Console. Reach for this page to change how the organisation presents itself anywhere its name or logo appears. It has no effect on which networks the organisation can use or who can act on its behalf; those settings live on separate pages in this family.

Profile changes are display only: they carry no on-chain effect and change nothing about who can act for the organisation. The name and logo are stored on the organisation's own record in the Console, and any screen that reads that record fresh, including Profile itself, reflects a save immediately, with no reload needed. The sidebar switcher is the one exception: it reads a separate list of organisations that does not refresh the moment you save. The switcher can go on showing the old name or logo for a while after every other surface has updated. See Verify the result for exactly when it catches up.

Each of the name and logo controls carries a hard limit worth knowing before you try to save. The name accepts up to 32 characters, trimmed of leading and trailing spaces, and cannot be left blank. The logo is optional: nothing in this workflow requires one, so you can leave it unset. When you do set one, it accepts SVG, PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 500 KB. The logo limit is smaller than an image control elsewhere in the Console because the file is stored directly on the organisation record as an inline value rather than uploaded to separate file storage. That also explains why there is no image-dimension requirement to plan around, only the byte limit.

Steps

Open Profile

Open Organisation settings, then Profile. The name and logo you edit here belong to the active organisation, not your personal account.

Update the profile

Change the organisation name, or choose a new logo by clicking the 80-pixel preview or the Upload logo button beside it; a logo is optional, so leave it alone if you don't need one. Selecting a logo file saves it as soon as you choose it; a name change waits until you click Save changes. To remove an existing logo, click Delete logo, which also takes effect right away. Supply a square image: the Console renders the logo into a fixed square everywhere it appears, the 80-pixel preview here and a 20-pixel avatar in the sidebar switcher. Anything that is not already square gets cropped, and SVG survives that shrink better than a raster file does.

Profile page with organisation name and logo settings

Screen equivalent: a name field holding the current organisation name, an 80-pixel logo preview that opens a file picker when clicked, an Upload logo button beside it, a Delete logo button once a logo is set, and a Save changes button that commits the name field. The logo controls save immediately; the name field waits for Save changes.

Troubleshooting

The page shows a restriction notice

Ask an organisation Owner or Admin to grant you that role, or to make the change for you. Saving without Owner or Admin access fails at the server even though the form stays editable for a Member account.

The new logo or name is not visible elsewhere

If Profile itself still shows the old name or logo, the save did not go through; check for a Request failed toast rather than reloading, since Profile already reflects a successful save without one. The sidebar switcher, for an account in more than one organisation, is different: it can lag by design, so give it a full reload before treating it as a bug.

The logo upload is rejected

The Console checks the file in a fixed order: an empty file fails first, then an unrecognized image type, then a mismatch between the file's declared type and its actual contents, then anything over 500 KB. A renamed file extension does not get past the content check, so if the upload fails, confirm the file is an SVG, PNG, JPEG, or WebP under 500 KB and not a different file renamed to look like one.

Save fails with a Request failed toast

The server rejected the request after the Console already let you submit it. This can happen if your role's permission changed since the page loaded, or from a temporary network problem. The toast includes a reference id; if retrying does not clear it, share that id with your Console administrator.

Frequently asked questions

Does renaming the organisation change its slug?

No. Name and slug are separate fields on the organisation record, and the Profile form only ever sends the field you changed: a name edit sends the name, a logo change sends the logo. Nothing in this workflow reads or writes the slug, so anything keyed on the slug stays exactly as it was before the rename.

What happens if two people edit Profile at the same time?

The last save wins. The update request carries no version check, so if a colleague saves a name change moments after you save a logo change, both land, because they touch different fields. Two people changing the same field in the same window is different: whichever save reaches the server second overwrites the first, with no conflict warning to either person.

Does an API key need the Owner or Admin role to update the organisation profile?

Yes. The request must have an authenticated organisation Owner or Admin, whether it uses a session or a supported API key. Scope bounds which kind of request a key may make; it does not widen what its underlying account may do at the organisation level. Create the key under an Owner or Admin account, or have one of them create it for your integration.

Does this page change my own name or login details?

No, and the shared name invites confusion: your account menu has its own page also called Profile, and that one holds your email, password, and identity details, not the organisation's. This page's Profile, reached through Organisation settings, only ever touches the organisation's name and logo. An account can belong to more than one organisation, and each keeps its own name and logo here, independent of every other one that account can switch into.
